Great news! Just under five weeks to go until the National Glass Fair takes place on 23rd November at the National Motorcycle Museum B92 0EJ. This event, the UK's original and premier glass fair, is shaping up to be a really exciting and interesting one with an exhibition of some of Leni Simons' collection of uranium glass plus the launch of a new book on Chance Glass by David Encill.

Geoffrey Weiner will also be signing copies of his latest book on Lalique car mascots.

In the foyer visitors will once again find the Christmas Table where there will be small gifts and tree decorations to get us all in the festive mood!

With several new exhibitors to add to the mix, we are hoping that you will agree that we can all look forward to a good day.

Further updates to follow but meanwhile, don't forget to look at our Facebook page and, if you like it, please give it a 'Like'!

We're pleased to let you know that the floorplan and exhibitor list have now been updated and, as you will see, there are several new faces to be found among our regulars.
This hopefully is good news for the fair: new people on the scene, new stock, a general increase in interest, none of which can be a bad thing for anyone.

As previously mentioned, David Encill will be attending and promoting his new book on Chance glass (Chance Additions) which is a continuation of the first book, Chance Expressions.
He will be offering copies discounted from £20 to £16 for the fair and will be found in Hall 1.

Contemporary glass artists at this event include Vic Bamforth, Terri Colledge, Helen Millard, Allister Malcolm, Sandra Callowhill, Laura Hart, Melissa Nicholls, Jonathan Harris, Isle of Wight Studio Glass, Genevieve Thompson, Sue Holdaway, Elliot Walker, Dale Morris and Steven Piper. In addition, many exhibitors sell studio glass alongside their other pieces and some specialise, such as A Heart of Glass, Michelle Guzy, Artius Glass and Artyfactz.

The glass makers use a range of skills: engraving, blowing, casting, lampwork and so on and if you are interested in contemporary glass then you will be sure to find something to please you.

For afficionados of other periods and genres of glass - well, you will be spoilt for choice. As many of you will know, our exhibitors save their most special pieces to sell at our events and there is some wonderful glass destined for this fair. If you haven't yet done so, we urge you to take a look at the Preview Galleries on the fair website. These will be updated continually over the next week and  will give you a taste of the many delights in store!
