Re: WMF - Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik AG (Geislingen, Germany)
Hi guys!
I am not sure if i am right when posting it here because we have a couple of different WMF threads now running.
This one would be named "Kalte Ente" in German. It's used for keeping drinks cool. You put ice into the glass cylinder inside.
The metal parts were made of WMF Cromargan.
Cromargan is an invention of WMF, a special sort of steel. Here a description of it in German:
(source: www.wmf.de)
Height is 26,5cm.
Regards
Micha

Cutlery form 2500, so called "Bauhaus" on Ebay, but it isn't Bauhaus in fact. Design Kurt Mayer 1930
came plated 100 or 90 and 800 silver and a complete range of forms
Nirosta (short for "nicht rostender Stahl" not rusting steel) on the blades of older pieces is a trade name and was shown as a quality mark, the last number marks the form.
I love this plain shape and use it every day.
