Walter Bosse
Walter Bosse Born 1904 in Vienna, died 1979 in Iserlohn Germany
Between 1926 & 1930 he designed for Metzler & Ortloff Porzellenfabrik in Ilmenau. He designed over 200 animal figures some considered grotesque, but retain a certain charm. Also between 1928 & 1932 he designed similar pieces for Goldschieder of Vienna. Other companies he designed for were Geobel in the 1940s, and Karlsruher Majolika between 1950 to 1972, designing 245 animals. He also designed for Hagenauer of Vienna in the 1950s who made stylised Metalware. Here is a selection of his work.

Re: Walter Bosse
I post it here, because it looks very much like Bosse, but I'm not that sure at all. No markings, however a lot of Bosse pieces were not marked. But no other Dachshound like this one to find in the net, although the begging doggie shape exists.
There is a street in Berlin famous for it's many antique shops and they set up their stalls for a weekend in summer outdoors in front of the shop. Discovered it inside. When I asked for the price the shop owner told me that it had been a very good business day and I can have it as a gift. I guess because the doggie is so small, h 3cm and this guy didn't know Bosse pieces. Made my day.
If it's no Bosse original, then an example for the pieces when others jumped on the train. I don't care, I love it anyway
